Master’s of the Summer (part 1)

Master’s of the Summer (part 1)

Soooo it’s been a while since I last posted. I will absolutely 100% blame the fact I was MIA all summer. But it was for a good reason!

This summer was a BIG ONE. I spent two months and a bit pursuing my summer project/thesis for my Master’s (!!!). I am a huge travel-holic but it’s taken me this year abroad to really appreciate what home means. That plus the fact that my home is an incredible hotbed of diversity inspired me to complete my Master’s in the state of Oregon.

After the photography, research, and writing was complete, I spent the end of the summer working on the design to make my photographs into a book on the birds of Oregon. Unfortunately until I officially graduate I cannot post any photographs from the project. 🙁 But here’s a sneak preview of the front cover:

Now that my project is turned in, I am finishing up my year back in England in style, traveling as much as I can. 🙂 I will post photographs from those adventures soon. I will also be working on a second book of Oregon, since I took SOOO many photographs I could not fit them all into my project. The sequel will be a less specific, general natural history book of Oregon, featuring not only birds but also landscapes, mammals, reptiles, waterfalls, insects, and more! With luck these both will grace the online shop that is so close to being ready. I am excited to unveil it!

This year has blown by and I cannot believe that now, writing this, that I am finished with my Master’s. I have no idea what the future brings, but that’s all a part of the adventure. I look forward to what comes next! Thank you for joining me on this journey. 🙂
